Landscaped garden with sandstone and resin

This landscaping project in Lindfield had a stunning view of acres of country fields.

Kennedy Landscapes designed a small garden that met the brief of an easy to mange low maintenance garden with no lawn. After our initial consultation the customers visited our garden display showground to see some potential materials for there garden. We recommended that the customers could do something a bit different to a standard back garden patio and they took our advice.

We placed the circular sandstone patio at the far end of the garden so they could enjoy the stunning view while getting the sun. The patio directly outside the back door was for the most part in the shade, so it made sense to leave it for a space to place the barbeque.

Resin was the chosen material to use for the path as it offered a contrast to the other hard landscaping material of sandstone. It worked very well and was constructed with a permeable concrete base to allow he water to drain through the entire surface area of the path.

Granite edging was chosen as a good match for the resin path and one site where the granite was constructed to form the raised edge for the flower bed.

It was decided to update the left hand fencing as it wasn’t in good condition. We recommended to use slotted concrete posts and gravel boards as they don’t rot. A decorative arched lattice fencing panel way chosen that work beautifully with the rest of the garden.

Along the back it was decided to plant some evergreen hedging plants called griselinia instead of fencing. This way it was more natural and it will grow into a hedge in the next few years. To finish the project we planted was a good selection of garden plants that helps soften the garden and easy to maintain.

The Result

A small natural pond build with rocks and surrounded by gravel finished this project off nicely, along with the planting in the beds. A delightful garden to landscape with a fantastic finished look.
