They wanted to create a space that was different with some unique qualities and avoid the need for a lawn mower for easy maintenance.
The new closed board fencing with concrete posts at the back provided privacy for the new sandstone patio. However, the interesting and unique twist is the sail that sits on the patio providing some shade.
The resin-bound path runs from the existing patio around to the new patio then curved round to take you to a tranquil area where a dragon-style feature was created from rocks to provide a seating area in front of a water feature.
Hardwood sleepers were used to create a screening and a raised bed for herbs, and lots of areas were created for planting at a later date.
It was important that the front garden followed the same theme as the back. The main decision was to use a retaining curved brick wall at the front to level the ground and create a space for some planting.
