Contemporary front driveway entrance that pairs high-end curb appeal with exceptional, long-lasting durability.
This Ardingly property was transformed from an overgrown, tired block-paved driveway with failing fencing into a highly durable, contemporary entrance. The new design seamlessly bridges aesthetic appeal with robust, long-term structural integrity to complement the home’s classic red-brick exterior.
Driveway Construction and Finish
To ensure a driveway that stands the test of time, the foundation was meticulously constructed. We installed a 100mm permeable concrete base laid over more than 200mm of heavily rolled, compacted Type 1 sub-base. The surface features a smooth, warm golden-tan resin-bound aggregate that perfectly accents the property’s brickwork and white garage door. To provide critical structural support, the perimeter is secured by a strong, concrete-hunched granite edge, featuring dark granite setts with a striking double-edging detail along the sweeping front curve. This curve elegantly frames a freshly prepared, large soil area ready for new garden planting.
