Major change for this new build back garden in Sayers Common
This new build property in Sayers Common has a good-sized garden but the area being clay, was very soggy ground, especially in recent changeable climates.
We started as most projects do with a garden design and we produced 3 concept designs. The main influence behind the design was to have a good-sized area of artificial grass for the owner's son to play football while making the area usable for good-sized seating areas.
We have used many curves and circles in the design to give it a unique look the will stand out from other gardens.
We added an additional layer of hardcore to raise the level of the garden to allow for the poor drainage of the whole area.
The Raj Green tumbled paving slabs make up the large patio area with the circular artificial grass cutting into the patio and separated with granite sett edging.
The sandstone curved pathways is made up of small multi-sized setts that give the garden variation in materials and look. This pathway leads to a circular area made from resin-bound material and is constructed with a permeable concrete base allowing for excellent drainage. This area can be used for seating or a garden building.
The top left-hand corner of the garden has a flower bed that will be easy to maintain and out of the way from flying footballs.
